Tyler Brown Wins MMRA Pro Championship

Crossville, Tenn., August 27, 2005 – Tyler Brown , of Crossville, Tenn., locked-up the 2005 Miniature Motorsports Racing Association (MMRA) Pro National Championship in his typical, dominating fashion. The culmination of the season came at Friendship Speedway (North Carolina.) where the MHE2 driver Tyler Brown, Crossville, Tenn., started on the pole in the race in his No. 15 Elite Market/ Southern States Equipment/ Rogers Southeastern Lubricants Baby Grand. The title is the first MMRA Pro championship for Tyler since his start in the series. The 2005 season proved to be demanding on Rodney Browns (Tyler’s father) schedule so the decision to bring Mark Hyjek of MHE2 Motorsports on board to Car Chief and fine tune Tyler’s driving skills proved to be a win, win for everyone involved. Tyler’s talents and consistency along with Mark’s expertise and dedication in the series (Car owner for the 2004 MMRA Pro Champion Bill Christie), proved the duo to be the team beat at every race.

As racing has it, even though Tyler was focused on the task of winning the Championship, it was far from an easy year for the team. Falling back as far as 5th in the points standings, Tyler’s patience and dedication prevailed. Even the title-clinching race proved a challenge for the team. Tyler, one of the hottest, up-and-coming drivers in motorsports, lead the first four laps then fell back as far as 5th. On lap 30 of the 50 lap event, Tyler started his run back up through the pack and battled his way into a second place finish just behind Danny Trent.

Tyler Brown:

“Racing in the MMRA series this year has been all I had hoped for. Winning the National Championship couldn’t have been possible without the dedicated help from my Dad Rodney Brown and Crew Chief Mark Hyjek with MHE2 Motorsports. I also want to thank my friends and family that donated their time, and support to make this season a success. A special thanks to Clifford Pugh, for helping me when I needed help learning how the car worked and how to be a good racer, without his help I wouldn’t have got this far. Also I would like to thank my sponsors for all their support for the last five years. I only hope that my continued success and my past accomplishments will grab the attention of someone in a higher racing division who would allow me to keep proving my true racing ability.”

Mark Hyjek, Car Chief:

“I'm very proud of Tyler. Last season, half way through the season I noticed a big change in Tyler. At the beginning of this season I stated that Tyler was showing the skills needed to win the championship. Tyler’s driving style, along with his maturity behind the wheel proved me correct.

The team’s goal was to ensure a consistent, top-quality vehicle to match Tyler’s equally consistent driving style. Both were integral parts to our success. We not only met that goal but took a championship home as well. Tyler and the team worked together very well and it paid off with him winning the championship. I’m sure there will be many more championships in Tyler’s future no matter which division he moves to. Tyler is just that type of driver”
